Today I finally start using the blog for daily updates and musings instead of periodic essays. I know I am about 10 years behind the times and this is very embarrassing for someone who had one of the first web sites back in 1995, but better late than never...
In 45 minutes I will be joining the State's Transportation Strategy BoardPrinciplesten years after a group suggested it as the logical outcome of the study and strategic work work done by Michael Gallis. What is ironic for me is that it took so long for me to sit on it, since I was an advocate for the idea (the main proponent was Oz Griebel now a candidates for Governor, then a civic leader who had helped support Gallis's work.
A minor irony is that I have torn my Achilles tendon and will have a hard time negotiating my way through the labyrinth that is the State DOT HQ in Newington...thank goodness I have secured a parking pass to use handicapped parking for the time being otherwise I doubt I could even try to make it...
Not sure if this will be on CTN or not, but I will give you my impressions of the Board and the situation later.
