Adam's Solar Ale

The Company will design, patent and manufacture off-grid, solar powered atmospheric water generators to provide clean, potable water around the globe.  Units will be both small and affordable- producing 10-20 gallons of clean, potable water (Adam's Ale) per day.  This is more than enough to sustain a family, or a small garden.

We are merging the manufacture of clean water dehumidifiers with DC solar power and constructing the system to operate out-doors and off the grid.  Most atmospheric water generators are indoor units that run on A/C current.

This will be a modular system, with a solar panel/battery 'power pyrimid', and the dehumification/filtration unit.

Alphachromics, Inc.

Alphachromics was formed in 2010 to commercialize the electrochromic innovations developed in the lab of Dr. Greg Sotzing, Professor of organic and polymer chemistry in the Department of Chemistry and the Institute of Materials Science at UConn. The company’s low cost color-changing conductive polymers can be applied to products as diverse as tunable eyewear (goggles and sunglasses), energy efficient windows, and high performance switchable fabrics. The initial market for the Company is eyewear. The Company will contract with leading eyewear manufacturers to develop electrochromic lenses that meet manufacturer’s specifications for military, sport, and recreational applications.

Alphachromics has built prototype lenses and is in negotiations with several leading manufacturers of high performance eyewear. The Company has signed a convertible note with Connecticut Innovations.

AlloStem Therapeutics was formed to develop, and out-license, a novel class of MEK inhibitors represented by the lead compound CIP-1374. CIP-1374 was discovered by Cheminpharma, LLC team. All intellectual property and rights related to CIP-1374 were transferred from ChemInpharma to AlloStem Therapeutics.

Agriopia is a gaming platform targetted towards students in areas of the country with significant interests in Agriculture. It uses a combination of games to educate students on the business of agriculture while allowing for other subjects to be taught through a quiz game engine. Revenue is generated by sponsorship of prizes in games, in-game branding and advertising. As of 9/15/2011 45 schools have signed up.

AgriFuels LLC

Waste streams around the world can be turned into resources for the growth of algae to produce feedstock for the food, fuel, nutraceuticals and pharmaceutical markets. World population will grow from 6 billion to 9 billion in the next 40 years at the same time that food production is under duress. Food safety issues and rising energy costs require action. Harnessing waste streams such as excess heat and CO2 from power generation and nutrients from sewage treatment plants can provide the required inputs for the growing of algae. We intend on manufacturing and providing the licenses to utilize portable, environmentally controllable, high yielding algae grow systems in brown fields algae and grow products that can be consumed locally and nationally. Hundreds if not thousands of these systems can be used in major urban areas across the country to generate jobs in the highest unemployment areas in the country utilizing moderately skilled workers trained in aquaculture.  

AgriFuels’ value position involves manufacturing systems and producing high volumes of algae in CT using our proprietary growing process. We will build, own and operate the Algae Grow Systems (AGS) in CT and then license Project Management Companies (PMC) to own and operate them throughout  the US. We will contract with local univerities to provide the algae species for our AGS and will manufacture the AGS products with a strategic partner in CT.  Eventually, others will purchase equity positions in the company.
