The Health Information Trust Alliance –HITRUST -- has introduced a common security framework that would serve as a standard for protecting the privacy of electronic medical records. The model is designed to perform certain tasks, including safeguarding online access to EMRs and enabling physicians and hospitals to remotely share patient data. Health IT will receive stimulus funding in excess of $19 Billion-net, immediately creating a mini-Y2K to meet 2011 deadlines.
