SmallTalk is a mobile application that supports face-to-face networking by linking users with shared interests. The application does this by accessing publicly available social network data and feeding it to users at events. Currently the application is being tailored for use in large networking events and conferences where attendees may find it difficult to start a conversation. Using the application gives the attendee an instant feed of who is at the event, including sponsors and vendors, and what interests they have in common. This creates value for the attendee by helping him or her find the right people to network with and the opportunity to form a new professional or personal relationship.
