Natural Polymer Devices was formed in 2011 to commercialize novel bioactive materials for the repair and replacement of damaged hard tissue. These materials were developed in the lab of Dr. Sangamesh Kumbar, Ph.D., of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the UConn Health Center, in collaboration with several researchers in the Departments of Orthopaedic Surgery and Chemical, Materials and Biomolecular Engineering.
